Top Ten Tuesday | Auto-Buy Authors

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

OK, this is actually a Top 5 Tuesday (which doesn’t have the same ring to it, but whatever) but I just really don’t have a longer list of authors I will immediately buy books from. But I still wanted to shout out a few of my all-time fave authors, so here ya go!

1  Victoria Schwab

Victoria is my favorite author ever and I love everything she puts out. Obviously, Shades of Magic is my fave, but I also super love Villains and Monsters of Verity! If she’s writing a book, I’m gonna read it.

2 Leigh Bardugo

I first got introduced to the Grishaverse through Six of Crows but quickly dived into the trilogy and was super excited for King of Scars. I’m HYPED for Ninth House and I’m really curious to see how she writes outside of Grisha novels, but the premise sounds amazing and I can’t wait.

3 Madeline Miller

MY GREEK MYTH QUEEN. She’s only put out a couple books but they both immediately became all-time favorites and I can’t wait to see what else she does (I think she just got done writing a short story about Pandora..?)

4 Rick Riordan

Now, I have yet to read The Kane Chronicles, but I’ve read everything else and probably will through at least the end of Trials of Apollo. Who knows where he’ll go after that, but I’m interested to find out!

5 Naomi Novik

Uprooted is one of the absolute best fairytale retellings, in my opinion, and I loved Spinning Silver as well. I never read her other series, but I will definitely always be on the lookout for new books by Novik in the future.

Who are your favorite authors?

  1. Great list! I was also introduced to Leigh Bardugo with Six of Crows and only read the Grisha Trilogy later on.. I’m also super hyped for Ninth House, also really because I’m interested in how the Elite Uni atmosphere is going to play out…

  2. I’ll second Madeline Miller’s books! I was lucky enough to meet her at a local bookshop event and it was amazing to hear her read aloud to us from Circe. It seemed to root the story even more in myth and oral storytelling. They are amazing books!
